The Myrio iDK package allows STB developers to port the Myrio Interactive client to their hardware, and provides the foundation platform for Java-based IP video applications. With API's to all popular IP video applications, STB vendors can give operators fast, intuitive control over services and options, including digital and pay TV, VOD, and digital music. By remaining current with the Myrio iDK, developers can improve existing digital services and offer customers new interactive choices.
Utilizing existing DSL and fiber technologies, broadband operators can now become true full-service providers - offering voice, broadband Internet, and a compelling entertainment experience including multi-channel broadcast television, PPV, VOD, PVR, and interactive TV programming. While a broad range of set-top box and Consumer Electronics (CE) products are available with a variety of functionality, network operators looking to deploy these new technologies must maintain a consistent user experience across a disparate set of hardware and software platforms. In response Myrio provides the Interactive Development Kit (iDK). The iDK is a software platform, enabling TV-centric services on IP-based set-top boxes such as digital TV, Pay-Per-View (PPV), Video on Demand (VOD), Personal Video Recording (PVR), digital music, Web and more.
Examples of enabled services include:
- Broadcast Digital Television (DTV) services
- Digital TV-based Electronic Program Guides (EPG) and associated features (Favorites/Reminders)
