Norwegian Telecommunications Company First in Northern Europe to Install Myrio’s Video Solution

Telenor selects Myrio’s middleware to complete successful lab trial

Kirkland, Wash. - Myrio Corporation, the leading provider of software and integration services that enable broadband service providers to offer Digital TV and other advanced entertainment services, announced today that Telenor, the largest telecommunications provider in Norway, has successfully completed a lab trial phase of video over DSL using Myrio’s software and integration services. The next phase will be a field trial with a few hundred users.

Telenor’s lab trial simulates an actual deployment architecture with complete headend, access platform and end user equipment. Telenor completed the video network platform in 2002, and required a middleware solution to complete the system. Myrio and Telenor began working on the project in February 2003, and completed the localization and integration within 3 months.

“We needed a middleware solution that could integrate quickly and seamlessly into our existing TV over DSL network solution,” said Leif Aarthun Ims, Vice President at the Telenor CTO Office. “Myrio has demonstrated significant technical expertise by ensuring the entire system is working and interoperable. Myrio’s middleware solution provided the tools and functionality that will enable us to complete our video services offering.”

“The swift localization and integration of our middleware in Telenor’s lab is a testament to the power and flexibility of our software architecture,” said Chris Coles, president and CEO of Myrio. “We remain committed to assisting European providers entering the video market, and we look forward to continuing our support of Telenor.
