May 28, 2003Cap Rock Telephone Cooperative Selects Myrio to Enable Video Services in West TexasMyrio’s content solution and integration with Martin Group’s OSS system significantly reduce the cost of delivering IP video Kirkland, Wash. - Myrio Corporation, the leading provider of software and integration services that enable broadband service providers to offer Digital TV, VOD, and other advanced entertainment services, announced today that Cap Rock Telephone Cooperative, in Spur TX, has commercially deployed Myrio’s video solution. Cap Rock selected Myrio’s video software services to complete their “Triple Play” offering of voice, data, and video. Cap Rock will make its new video services available to its subscribers immediately. In an effort to provide a competitive video offering while reducing operational costs, Cap Rock chose Martin Group's auto-provisioning software, OASIS. Cap Rock also uses Martin Group's OSS for customer care and end-user billing. OASIS provides a streamlined service order flow process between customer care and Myrio's TotalManage back office application via an API interface developed by Myrio. This interface will increase data integrity, increase productivity, and allow Cap Rock to provision services real time without manual intervention. In addition to auto-provisioning, Martin Group also supports an automatic billing feed from Myrio into the end-user billing software. Providing content was also a high priority in Cap Rock’s decision making process. Myrio is able to provide content services at a substantial discount compared to potential competitors’ offerings by leveraging the aggregated subscriber base of its many commercial deployments. “It’s a little difficult to deploy video without TV and movie content,” said Jim Whitefield, executive vice-president and general manager of Cap Rock. “Myrio is currently the only provider to offer content and content management services, which combined with their experience deploying video made Myrio the best choice.” “Our software and services must contribute directly to capital and operational savings to make video more feasible,” said Chris Coles, president and CEO of Myrio. “Our content services alone allow Cap Rock to save $3,500 per month, and the integration of Martin Group’s OSS system with our back office solution is also a tangible example of operational savings we enable through the flexibility of our software architecture.” Joining forces to supply Cap Rock with video is Myrio partner VideoTele.com. VideoTele.com's AstriaŇ digital headend enables Cap Rock to take in both off-air analog and pre-compressed digital video and perform demultiplexing, low bit-rate digital encoding, rate conversion and protocol conversion. VideoTele.com’s digital headend solution provides the flexibility to distribute video over any transmission type, including xDSL, coax and fiber.
