Myrio Expands Its International Markets With New Appointments to Its EMEA Operations

Kirkland, WA - Myrio Corporation, the leading provider of software technology that enables the delivery of Digital TV and advanced entertainment services over broadband networks, announced today the appointment of telecommunications veteran Michael Crawford as vice president of sales for Myrio Corporation’s Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations. Additionally, Sagar Gordhan has joined the same office as senior systems engineer. Both Crawford and Gordhan will be based in the United Kingdom.

Crawford’s responsibilities include overall coordination of sales, developing market strategies and establishing business relationships with international public telephone and telegraph companies (PTTs) and telecommunication vendors throughout the EMEA markets.

Prior to joining Myrio, Crawford began his telecommunications career with British Telecom as an engineering manager. He then spent more than ten years with Teradyne Ltd., a leading supplier of high performance interconnection systems, before joining Broadband Telecom as VDSL-based Access Systems marketing manager for Europe. Crawford holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Telecommunications from North Staffs Polytechnic, now Staffordshire University.

Gordhan joins Myrio from Fujitsu, UK where he was a senior systems engineer within DSL Solutions. Prior to that, Gordhan worked at British Telecommunications’ R&D center in the UK on network management solutions for ATM and IP networks. He holds a Masters in Telecommunication Engineering from London University and a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from Nottingham Universtiy.

“The EMEA markets hold great potential for Myrio as more and more operators, including the international PTTs, continue to test and deploy video services over their broadband networks,” said Ray Young, Myrio’s senior vice president of International Sales and Business Development. “Mike’s previous experience in working with and for major telecommunications carriers and service providers, and Sagar’s knowledge of video over IP networks, makes them both great additions to the Myrio team abroad.”
