June 03, 2002Myrio Announces Largest U.S. Deployment of Digital TV and Entertainment Services Over DSLContract with Iowa Network Services to serve subscribers of independent telephone companies throughout Iowa Atlanta, GA - Myrio Corporation, the leading provider of software technology that enables the delivery of Digital TV and advanced entertainment services over broadband networks, announced today that Iowa Network Services (INS), a company that serves 147 independent telephone companies with approximately 250,000 subscribers, has selected Myrio to provide software for the delivery of premium digital entertainment services over its statewide telecommunications network. The Myrio solution will be available to the 147 owners and users of the INS network throughout the state of Iowa.INS selected Myrio after evaluating other leading providers of software that provisions and controls entertainment video services for independent telephone companies utilizing DSL distribution. The INS entertainment offering to the independent telephone companies will include more than 150 channels of high-quality digital TV and digital music and always-on high-speed Internet access. “Our goal is to provide our participating independent telephone companies with new services that are strategically sound and provide significant new revenue opportunities,” said Richard M. Vohs, president and CEO of Iowa Network Services. “We looked at all the other providers for these enhanced entertainment services and Myrio’s experience with deployments, price performance and feature set won out.” According to Charles Jablonski, president and CEO of Myrio, the agreement with INS demonstrates – in a very large way – that telecommunications network operators are embracing the concept of evolving into entertainment companies. “We offer a compelling business strategy to operators wanting to leverage their existing networks and implement new entertainment and communications services,” said Jablonski. “Our solution is practical in terms of protecting subscribers from cable or satellite TV encroachment, and it is profitable in terms of a rapid return on the investment.”
