Myrio to Integrate RealNetworks’ RealPlayer Into Its Digital TV Offering

Streaming media enhances company’s advanced video services package, targeting broadband network operators

Kirkland, WA - Myrio Corporation, a leading provider of software technology that enables the delivery of Digital TV and advanced entertainment services over broadband networks, announced today that it has reached an agreement with RealNetworks® to bundle the RealPlayerÒ with its interactive software. Myrio will begin integrating the RealPlayer in its software products immediately. The license agreement enables Myrio to offer the delivery of streaming media web content exclusively through the RealPlayer over its software platform to selected Linux-based set-top boxes.

The addition of the RealPlayer to Myrio’s entertainment offering will allow users to access a greater variety of Web-based content such as high-quality streaming video and audio, including RealVideo and RealAudio content. The Myrio software solution also includes digital TV, Video-on-Demand, Pay-Per-View, CD-quality digital music, and Web browsing.

“The addition of RealPlayer takes the multimedia experience to a level that other providers in our space simply cannot match,” said Charlie Jablonski, president and CEO of Myrio. “We believe the RealPlayer feature makes our offering more attractive to our customers because it gives them another unique service to increase subscriber adoption and revenue opportunities.”

“RealNetworks is pleased to work with Myrio to deliver broadband network operators and consumers access to the more than 85% of streaming media Web pages on the Internet in RealNetworks’ formats” said Ian Freed, general manager, Media Systems, RealNetworks, Inc. “As the use of broadband grows and consumers consume more digital media online, we look forward to enabling playback of this content on broadband set-top boxes.”
